SONGSORB® 2908 is a substituted benzoate that absorbs ultraviolet radiation and dissipates the energy as heat. It provides antioxidant activity both during thermal processing and in moderate elevated temperatures due to radical scavnging. SONGSORB® 2908 exhibits excellent compatibility, low color contribution, low voatility and low toxicity. It is an excellent UV stabilizer for olefins, particularly pigmented opaque formulations for applications such as pipes, drums, and sheeting. It can also be used in combination with SONGNOX® Antioxidants and SONGLIGHT® Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer to optimize performance in outdoor use, and synergizes well with UV absorbers and antioxidants which function as hydroperoxide decomposers. FDA listed in 21 CFR 178.2010, Antioxidants and/or stabilizers for polymers.
