VANLUBE® RI-CSN

Lubricant Additive

Category:
VANLUBE RI-CSN Lubricant Additive is a neutral calcium salt of high purity synthetic dinonylnaphthalene sulfonic acid. It is a classic amphiphilic molecule with a strong polar group for metal surface affinity at one end, and an oleophilic portion of dinonylnaphthalene at the other end to form a surface-protective monolayer. The sulfonate monolayer formed on the metal surface effectively reduces the permeation of oxygen and water to the metal surface, which essentially eliminates the wet oxidation process. VANLUBE RI-CSN Lubricant Additive is oil- and solvent-soluble. It can be used in most petroleum based products and many synthetic oil-based products. It is also compatible with additives such as antioxidants, antiwear and extreme pressure agents, and other corrosion inhibitors used in industrial oils and greases. However, it is always prudent practice to check the solubility in the base stocks used, and the compatibility with other additives, before using VANLUBE RI-CSN Lubricant Additive.
